Normally, people are used to packing for a vacation in the summertime. What is the difference in packing for a trip in the wintertime? You’re going to have to pack a lot of warm clothes. Don’t pack too many layers or you won’t be able to close that suitcase. Here’s how to pack for a winter vacation.
Pack Your Winter Jacket
You’re going to need the warmest jacket that you can find in order to stay warm. Instead of packing it away into your suitcase, wear it on the plane.
We know that you don’t want to be too bundled up for a plane ride, but it’s best to wear your winter jacket to be prepared when the plane lands.
Hats, Gloves, and Scarfs
Get all the winter gear together. Before you head out to your destination, research what the temperature will be. It’s frustrating to keep them together during travel, but you’ll be thankful that you brought these accessories along. Bring a hat that covers your ears and covers the back of the neck. Get a pair of waterproof gloves to keep your hands warm. Scarfs are nice, but make sure they’re not long enough to hook on anything.
The Right Winter Shoes
If you don’t wear the right shoes on a winter vacation, then your feet are likely to get soaked. Buy a solid pair of shoes, instead of taking your best shoes. Look for weatherproof, dark shoes in a shoe store. It’s okay to pack an extra pair, but remember, pack lightly for a winter trip.
You better think about layering up. Be smart and dress warmly. Organize clothes for the trip to see what you’ll need. As an example, pack a t-shirt, long-sleeve top, and a fleece.
